The “Inventing Grand Paris/Entangled History of Metropolitan Areas” research programme has received (and continues to receive) support from key institutions in the region. Focused on the history of Grand Paris, it automatically turned towards organisations dedicated to the history of the city or region, or to the memory of the capital and its suburbs (such as archival and documentation centres, heritage services, town planning agencies, etc.). Eager to connect the past and present of the metropolitan area, “Inventing Grand Paris” also naturally turned to educational and research institutes that seek to use history to help establish territorial diagnostics.
